Wooden garden furniture and structures such as pergolas look great – until they go grey or lose their colour due to weathering. Once the colour has gone, there seems to be no alternative other than to apply a darker varnish or stain.

Until now that is, with the introduction of Nanolia WoodFresh, a highly effective water-based cleaning and “refreshing” product for all kinds of timber. It is ideal for restoring grey or faded/weather-bleached surfaces, bringing them back to their original colour and texture.

The results are simply amazing!

Blue and black fungus, bacteria and weathered and loose wood/cellulose fibres are effectively removed, without any sandpapering or grinding!

Treated surfaces appear again to be “brand-new” and are ready for treatment with stain or varnish – or better still, other nano-coatings from our extraordinary range such as Wood ProDeck or WoodBoost. (Amazingly, WoodFresh is also suitable for use on stone and concrete and is safe for the environment – containing no heavy metals it disperses naturally.)

WoodBoost protects wood surfaces against the effects of weather and ultra violet rays reducing, bleaching and greying. It is an ideal first coating on raw wood surfaces or after treatment with Wood Fresh. Penetrating deep within the wood, it enhances the structure of the wood and controls moisture, eliminating signs of “wear and tear”. It may be mixed with wood dyes to achieve the desired finished colour. Water-based and free from biocides, WoodBoost meets German Regulation DIN EN 71-3 (Safety in use with toys) and is suitable for either indoor or outdoor purposes.

While WoodBoost offers excellent protection against normal wear and tear and will perform as well as most varnishes, it contains no hydro- or oleo-phobic additives and therefore for ultimate protection against the elements we recommend a further coating with Nanolia Wood Prodeck or even Wood Prodeck AB which is an extended function version. In addition to the water and oil resistant properties of standard Prodeck, this product has anti-fungus and anti-rotting properties by virtue of an additive that prevents formation of mosses and algae on treated surfaces.

Both products protect wood against water saturation, swelling and rotting. Their “breathing” and practically invisible nano-coating forces water and oils to “pearl-off”. Even in extreme cases of exposure to moisture, the wood absorbs no moisture – it simply remains on the surface allowing the wood to dry swiftly, resisting cracking due to water penetration and the effects of the sun. Soiling agents/dirt cannot penetrate the wood and therefore there is no marking or flecking. Prodeck can be used both for indoor and outdoor purposes and is ideal for all untreated, absorbent and pressure- impregnated types of wood.
