How do I treat efflorescence?

Efflorescence is a type of discoloration. It is a deposit, usually white in color that occasionally develops on the surface of concrete. In rare cases excessive efflorescence, within the pores of the material, can cause expansion that may disrupt the surface.

Simply brush it off with a stiff brush. Once brushed off apply Concrete Protect and apply second layer, wet on wet, within 10 mins of first layer as per instructions.

Note: If you try to remove the efflorescence with water you will simply send the salts back into the substrate and make it harder to treat effectively.
