Stone Coat™

Stone Coat is a high-performance, long-lasting, single-component water-based impregnation for protection of absorbent mineral surfaces such as concrete, plaster, paving stone, screed and cementitious materials against the effects of pollution and damage from oil, grease, dirt and water.  This amazing product actually increases the surface strength of concrete and screed, providing protection against abrasion while closing the pores and preventing penetration of various pollutants such as sewage, salt water, chemicals, fizzy drinks and wine. It also protects against the effects of frost, snow and ice, and prevents the formation of algae, moss and efflorescence.

Perfect for protection of marble, it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, with a service life of up to 15 years after which it can be easily reapplied. Nanolia’s Stone Coat is free of solvents and very easy to use.

Applications:

  • · Dirt and stain protection for almost all mineral surfaces, both indoors and out
  • · Protection of old and new concrete floors against all types of aggressive fluids such as salt water, wastewater,  oils, etc …
  • · Protection of concrete walls in tunnels
  • · Prevent flaking of the surface by alternate freezing and thawing
  • · Suitable for garages, driveways, roof terraces, flat roofs, etc …
  • · Protection of concrete floors in animal enclosures against bacteria, mould and fungi
  • · Protects against water penetration at cracks
  • · Waterproofing cement joints
  • · Protection and repair of pipelines and water storage containers
  • · Sealing of the outer surfaces of basements and walls
  • · For all areas with high chemical and mechanical stress

Compared to Nanolia’s Concrete Protect

  • · Requires no calcium in the base substrate
  • · Less resistant to acid
  • · Lower penetration, higher viscosity
  • · Resists water ingress at 0.5 bar; depending on substrate to a maximum of 1.0 bar.
  • · Suitable for very absorbent substrates
  • · Hydrophobic and oleophobic
  • · Forms a light film
  • · Easily applied to highly absorbent substrates

Always test a small sample to ensure that the desired result is achieved before proceeding with the main project. If in doubt, do not proceed.

Use undiluted. Application temperature between +5 ° C and 50 ° C. Maximum humidity 95%. The surface must be dry, clean and free from grease and oil. Dust and loose residues Plaster / Cement / Sand / chalk must be removed thoroughly.

Apply by brush, roller or spray. Depending on absorbency apply in one or two operations approx 10-15 minutes apart to complete saturation. Test first to avoid puddling. The surface should be protected for 24 hours after treatment before exposure to rain or water condensation. Within this period avoid close proximity or contact. The drying time can be accelerated by ventilation.

Any rain or water falling on the surface in the first 7 days after application should be removed immediately. Chemical resistance increases progressively over the first 4 weeks. Avoid the use of  alkaline floor cleaners during the first 4 weeks. Adjacent mineral surfaces such as glass or tiles should be protected against splashes. Avoid contact with aluminium. Wash off any impurities immediately with water. Application equipment can be cleaned with water.

Wear and tear or partial damage can be repaired by additional local application.

Details of the application process are highly dependent on the coated surface. We are happy to advise you on this issue.

Depending on absorbency of the surface, approx 100gr.-350 gr / m².

At least 24 months in cool storage in sealed original containers. Protect from frost.
Empty containers can be disposed of with household waste. Containers with remaining contents must be disposed as hazardous waste in compliance with local regulations.
