Nanolia Stone Guard™

Highly recommended for use on sandstone, plaster, concrete, fibre concrete or roof tiles, Nanolia’s Stone Guard is a “breathing” impregnation that protects practically all types of porous or absorbent mineral-based materials such as brick, tiles, concrete and paving against water, oil dust and dirt. Penetrating deep below the surface, this amazing water-based impregnation protects surfaces with an almost invisible coating that lets the material breathe while preventing the ingress and adhesion of dust, dirt and other contaminants.

Even after long exposure to water damp cannot penetrate below the surface allowing the material to dry out swiftly, preventing saturation, rotting or fouling. The life span of the base material is significantly extended.

Nanolia Stone Guard lasts many years, even if the surface beading effect wears off by abrasion. Even then, the beading effect can be easily renewed by a further application, typically every 2 years.

N.B. For the coating of granite, we recommend the use of Glass Pro and for Marble we recommend Stone Coat.

Stone Guard is recommended for all surfaces both indoors and outside.  However, for extra protection outdoors and where freeze-thaw cycles may be a significant issue, we recommend Nanolia Concrete Protect as this also seals and protects against weathering, water, acid, snow, frost and ice and efflorescence.

Always test a small sample to ensure that the desired result is achieved before proceeding with the main project. If in doubt, do not proceed.

Do not dilute. The base material must be dry, clean, and oil or fat free. The working temperature must be above 5°C. The job can be done by brush, roller or spray but do test your technique first to ensure that you are able to avoid puddling from over application. Remember the “less is more” rule. In the case of highly absorbent surfaces a second application is recommended, applied “wet-on-wet”.

Deep penetration of the product ensures a longer life span. Excess product should be removed using a cloth in order to prevent “stickiness”. Adjacent surfaces, glass surfaces or rubber seals, should be masked to protect them. The drying time is approx. 2 hours, and after a period of 24 hours the complete effect is achieved. Used application equipment can be cleaned using water. The effectiveness of the product is still intact, even when the “pearling-off” effect at the surface is reduced. An annual refreshing is recommended. The details of application vary greatly, according to the material to be treated. We are therefore happy to give you individual advice.

Depending entirely upon the surface to be treated, and the method used, about 10 – 15m² can be treated with one litre of this product.

1 litre bottle, 10 litre canister. Other packing forms/sizes are possible after prior consultation with us and according to the transport possibilities/regulations.

The product may be stored for at least 12 months in its original packing. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.
Empty containers as well as any remaining product must be disposed of according to the local laws and regulations or it must be taken to the community collection point for such materials.
